From April 24th to 28th, 2024, the Rwanda Resilience and Grounding Organization (RRGO), led by its Executive Director, Samuel Habimana, was invited by the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s Center for Social and Community Justice. The purpose of this invitation was to honor the memory of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda and to present Rwanda\u2019s journey toward resilience and reconciliation from 1994 to 2024.\"\"<\/p>\n

During his visit, Mr. Habimana gave a keynote presentation at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Library by Prof Paul Draus titled \u201cRemembering and Reconciliation: Rwanda’s Journey 30 Years After the Genocide.\u201d His address highlighted the progress Rwanda has made in healing from the trauma of the genocide, focusing on the resilience of the Rwandan people. The event emphasized the importance of remembrance and reconciliation’s power in building peace and unity.<\/p>\n

While in Michigan, Mr. Habimana explored various social and community projects, including an innovative green space project aimed at creating recreational parks and gardens in Detroit.
