- On May 3, 2023, floods and landslides hit Rwanda’s northern and western provinces resulting in over 131 deaths and even more displaced from their homes. Some neighbors and CRM trainees in the affected area, lost family members and/or lost their homes because of the flooding and landslides. Those affected need “assistance with basic needs like food, blankets, bedcovers, mattresses, soap, other basic needs, and, importantly, comforting words.” RRGO is hoping to raise USD 4,300 in order to purchase and distribute hygienic kits, bed kits, food assistance for family and children, and kitchen sets to 36 families who have lost family members and/or whose homes have been damaged in the recent flooding and landslides. Along with these basic necessities, members of RRGO will share CRM skills with these families to help in their recovery as well.
