BIRACYAZA Emmanuel is a Program Manager and co-founders of Rwanda Resilience and Grounding Organization in Rwanda. He is also the trainer of Community Resilience Models skills.. He graduated in University of Rwanda, in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences in Clinical Psychology where he graduated with First Class with Honors. Under the supervision of Dr. Jean Mutabaruka, PhD, his dissertation was entitled «Validating Anxiety Sensitivity Index on Clinical Sample of Rwanda» using a quantitative method including psychometric qualities or properties and factor structure.

Since he has graduated in the University of Rwanda, he has many professional experiences where he has professionally worked as Program Manager in Rwanda Resiliency and Grounding Organization (RRGO) since 2015, one of NGOs of Rwanda that has the mission to promote mental health through expanding resilience zone of individuals and communities. 

In addition to his tasks, he also worked as Program Assistant for Education, Research, Information Collection and Sharing in Partners For Conservation, and he has been the volunteer Life Wound Healing Association.

Moreover, he has been the volunteer in Life Wound Healing Association and had responsibilities to deal with the psychological, social or community problems particularly the psychological problems caused with the all kinds of violence and/or any traumatic event. Since, he has graduated he has strongly interested in Psychometric, Computing (IBM SPSS and STATA), IT and GIS, Operational research, Quality Assurance, Epidemiology, and Biostatistics.

One the academic side, Emmanuel is the clinical psychologist, graduated from University of Rwanda; graduated in the Clinical Psychology, University of Rwanda.  He is working dissertation of Master program in Public Health of University of Rwanda.

He is highly advanced in Data Management and Data Analysis using statistical packages and software and he has extended his professional experiences by attending the international, national and regional trainings and conferences.

  • National Institute of Health (NIH) of Office of Extramural Research certificate based on Course Protecting Human Research Participants;
  • Training about leadership and Civic Education by Rwanda Government Board (RGB);
  • Workshop on Trauma Crisis theory and Therapy with Yeshiva University
  • Workshop Course in Trauma-focused on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Rwanda for Justice;
  • Workshop on Qualitative Research with Yeshiva University;
  • Training on Vicarious Trauma and its treatment by Prof. Carl Auerbach, Yeshiva University, USA;
  • Workshop on Trauma Crisis and Intervention with Rwanda Association of Clinical Psychologist;
